Event Description
Life above Kurnitz’s Kandy Store is anything but sweet.
The year is 1942 and Eddie Kurnitz is forced to leave his two sons with
their bitter, intimidating grandmother while he seeks employment in
order to pay back debts incurred during his deceased wife’s lengthy
illness. Fortunately for Jay and Arty their cheerful, childlike Aunt
Bella also resides in the Yonker’s apartment and becomes their ally.
Will they have the “moxie” to endure Grandma? Witness the unraveling
of the Kurnitz family story as it is revealed in this Pulitzer Prize
and Tony Award-winning drama.
The play is directed by Paul Thomas and will be presented at Beeler Auditorium on the Lafayette High School campus. |
